About Every Woman Every Child
Every Woman Every Child (EWEC) is a United Nations initiative led by former Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon. The movement mobilizes national and international action by governments, multilateral organizations, private industry and civil society to address crucial health challenges facing all the worlds women, children and adolescents. EWEC implements the Global Strategy for Women’s, Children’s and Adolescents’ Health, which forwards a roadmap to end all preventable deaths of women, children and adolescents within a generation.
The health of women, children and adolescents is the foundation of human development, impacting our success in achieving our Sustainable Development Goals 2030. Healthy women and children form healthy societies and helping adolescents realize their right’s to health, wellbeing and education will guide them in securing their full potential as adults.
American Business Support
The Council provides a platform for the U.S. private sector to support the EWEC Global Strategy in Southeast Asia, pledging its first commitment to the movement in September 2018. It has proved vital in facilitating Fortune 500 companies to bring in education, technologies, jobs and opportunities that have helped better lives in ASEAN. The Council is devoted to generating collaborative opportunities between its members and ASEAN Ministries of Health and other pivotal healthcare stakeholders, to promote Corporate Social Responsibility.
Together we can achieve more by joining hands with others, and we are committed to collating efforts by governments, the U.S. private sector and civil society in promoting child, adolescent and maternal health in ASEAN.
